125 Years of History in the Wiener Riesenrad

To celebrate its 125th birthday, the Wiener Riesenrad has come up with some very special ideas this year. You may already know the panorama platform, with which you can enjoy the view over Vienna without a wagon, just standing on a glass platform. And now they are presenting their next special happening.

Take a ride with the Kaiser, Sigmund Freud, and many more

Together with the Viennese theater ensemble Nesterval, you will be offered a unique, interactive theater experience from June 25th to July 2nd, 2022. Starting right after you have bought your Riesenrad ticket, your ride in the Riesenrad will become a journey back in history. It includes encounters with real Viennese people or historical figures such as the Kaiser, well-known writers, musicians such as Falco, or even a normal Viennese newspaper boy. The actors do not only refer to historical facts, but also include you and your reality into their play – of course only insofar as you want it. The level of interaction is determined by you. Nobody has to, but everyone can take part in the experience. Since the performers all speak English, all visitors can be included at any time.

The interactive theater experience is included in the regular ticket price and does not have to be paid or booked separately. You can buy tickets for the Wiener Riesenrad either on site or online at wienerriesenrad.com
