Wrestling in Wurstelprater

On the 25th of September 2021, the almost legendary Pratercatchen will take place again in the Wurstelprater! Local and international stars will be there: two-time Prater Cup winner Peter White, seven-time world champion Chris Raaber “Bambikiller”, Michael Kovac, Chris Colen, Sultanov, Tiny Iron and many more.

Wrestling already has a long tradition in Vienna’s Wurstelprater – as early as 1890, people were wrestling in a tent here. In the 70s, the high point of Viennese wrestling shifted to the Heumarkt. In 2017, Marcus Vetter, president of the “Wrestling in Wien” association, brought wrestling back to the Wurstelprater and revived it. This year Pratercatchen will take place for the 4th time, after last year’s break due to Corona.
