In 1766, Emperor Joseph II opened the Vienna Prater to the public, transforming it into a recreational area for all Viennese. 260 years later, the Wurstelprater and the Grüner Prater are not only an integral part of leisure activities in Vienna, but also a magnet for visitors from all over the world. This milestone certainly calls for a celebration!

From Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 20th, 2026, you can look forward to a grand anniversary celebration in the Wurstelprater. Many exciting events await you, celebrating all the unique aspects of the Prater. And there will be special activities for our younger guests as well.
