Ganslzeit and Autumn Delights
At the end of October, Austria traditionally celebrates “Ganslzeit” – the season of roast goose (in honor of St. Martin, in case you’re wondering). Naturally, several restaurants in Vienna’s Wurstelprater will also be serving St. Martin’s goose and delicious seasonal alternatives.
We recommend combining your meal with a relaxing stroll through the Prater, which is currently glowing in every imaginable shade of autumn.
Gösser Eck
At Gösser Eck, you can enjoy the classic roast goose served with red cabbage, potato dumplings, an orange slice, and lingonberries. The dish costs €32.00 per portion and is available until November 23. If you’re in the mood for something a little more festive, don’t miss the Grand Goose Dinner on Friday, November 14th, 2025 – featuring live music, a welcome aperitif, and a three-course menu for €45.00 per person.

Kolarik im Prater
At Luftburg – Kolarik im Prater, St. Martin’s season is reinterpreted in a creative way. Instead of the traditional goose, you can enjoy a Martin’s-style pork knuckle, served with potato dumplings, red cabbage, and braised gravy for €24.20. Alternatively, try the Heurigen-style pork knuckle, accompanied by bacon cabbage, pretzel dumpling, and gravy. If you prefer something meat-free, the autumn menu also features pumpkin tarte flambée, forest mushroom pasta, and Grandma’s bread soup (📸 see gallery). For dessert, indulge in a pumpkin spice cheesecake or a warm chocolate cake. Everything is 100% organic!
