Kinderwasserfahrt

The Kinderwasserfahrt (Children’s Water Ride in English) was built by Karl Judex in Wurstelprater around 1950 and had a small petting zoo integrated for a long time. The children rode through the waterway in small boats with swan heads, past small (domestic) animals such as rabbits, hamsters, chickens, guinea pigs and many more.

In 1993/94 the water ride was taken over and completely renovated. In the course of this, the petting zoo was also replaced with a dinosaur landscape. From then on the waterway was peppered with dinosaurs and ran through a volcano – including a waterfall.

Kinderwasserfahrt was in operation until 2000. Its plot, as well as the adjacent plots 88 and 80, were then completely restructured. Today you will find The Race, the Rösthaus, the Praterkasperl and the public toilets in this area.
