Wrestling: Prater-Catchen 2025

Wrestling is back in Vienna's Prater! On Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th, 2025, national and international wrestling stars will be competing at the Prater Wrestling Show. Among those taking part will be Mike di Vecchio, Intercontinental Champion Fabio Ferrari, European Champion Martin Pain, and NWA Champion Thom Latimer.

Oldest Wrestling Title at Prater Wrestling

This year, the Prater Wrestling Show will also feature the oldest recognized wrestling title in the world – the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Marcus Vetter and his team have succeeded in bringing Briton and titleholder Thom Latimer to Vienna!

Wrestling Tradition in the Prater

Wrestling has a long tradition in Vienna's Wurstelprater – wrestling was held here in a tent as early as 1890. In the 1970s, the pinnacle of Viennese wrestling moved to the Heumarkt. In 2017, Marcus Vetter, president of the "Wrestling in Vienna" association, brought wrestling back to the Wurstelprater and breathed new life into it.
