3X3 Europe Cup 2024 in front of Wiener Riesenrad

Are you a 3×3 fangirl oder fanboy? Then you absolutely have to stop by the Kaiserwiese from August 22nd to 25th, 2024, when the 3×3 European Championship presented by win2day will be held right in front of the wiener Riesenrad!

Bigger, better, more inclusive

The three Austrian professional basketball players Lisa Zderadicka, Mehmet Hayirli and Matthias Linortner last rode the Wiener Riesenrad in their childhood. In the wagon, of course. Last week, for promotional purposes, they stood on one of the historic wagons at a height of 65 meters. Mehmet Hayirli was the first wheelchair user in history to dare to do so and is thus also setting the tone for history to be made on the Kaisewiese in August. For the first time ever, the best wheelchair basketball players in Europe will be playing for the IWBF 3×3 Europe Cup title! Everyone will have the same stage and the same conditions, which unfortunately has not been a given until now.

The stadium on the Kaiserwiese will hold 4,000 visitors this year, testifying to the success of last year’s World Cup.

Admission, Reserved Seats and VIP Tickets

In general, the same applies again this year: admission is free and is regulated according to the “first come, first served” principle. To make sure that you actually get into the stadium, you can buy Reserved Seats in advance. This way you can simply skip the long free entry lines and go straight to your reserved seat in the stadium. Each match day is divided into two slots: Slot 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Slot 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Within these two slots, you can watch as many games as you like with the corresponding ticket. VIP tickets are of course also available, which give you access for the entire day and also provide you with drinks and food.

What is 3×3?

3×3 is a variant of classic basketball, played on a half court (15×11 meters) with only one basket. Each team consists of three field players and one substitute. The game lasts ten minutes – but whoever reaches 21 points first wins, even if the regular game time is not yet over.
