Vienna Halloween Run 2026

Are you looking forward to Halloween? On Friday, Oct 30th, 2026, the Prater Hauptallee will once again transform into the city’s spookiest running course as the Vienna Halloween Run brings together running enthusiasts, families, and fans of all things spooky. At the Vienna Halloween Run, you’ll share the starting line with zombies, werewolves, and other eerie creatures. You can choose from three different race categories to take part in. Your options are:

  Mini Monster Run – 600 m / 800 m for kids ages 3-9
  Little Fear Run – 2.5 kilometers for recreational runners
  Big Scare Run – 5 kilometers for more runners

The spooky atmosphere will be fueled not only by the participants in their creative costumes but also by the hauntingly decorated course full of goosebump-inducing moments. At the finish line, every runner will receive a well-filled goodie bag and a finisher medal. The running event will be accompanied by a varied side program featuring face painting for kids, pumpkin carving, and a photo booth.

Program

The five runs will take place one after the other, each preceded by a warm-up session. After the final awards ceremony, you can celebrate with the other participants until 21:00.

17:15   Little Fear Run, 2,5 km
18:00   Award Ceremony Mini Monster + Little Fear Run
18:30   Big Scare Run, 5 km – starting block 1
19:30   Big Scare Run, 5 km – starting block 2
20:30   Award Ceremony Big Scare Run

Best Costume Award

Costumes are, of course, not mandatory — unless you want to win the Style Award! The scariest and most original costume will be chosen in each category. So throw on your vampire cape, break out the fake blood, stick a rubber axe to your head, and give your fellow runners a fright they’ll never forget!
